From the President’s Activity Report: Chinese New Year at Valley View

The Confucius Institute at NMSU celebrated three days of Chinese New Year with more than 200 students at Valley View Elementary School. A highlight for the students was reading Eric Carle’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” in English, Spanish, and Chinese. The students also got the chance to try their hands at games that are played by their counterparts in China. Confucius Institute also celebrated the 2018 New Year of the Dog with students from NMSU’s RGH Hall with a Chinese dinner and tea tasting, martial arts, and a gorgeous traditional dance led by Yang Tingting.
