孔子学院学生“迪克”的故事

2017-12-06 陈岩 孔院长     8月份,美国的学校陆续开学了,但是我们孔院的“外派教师”还没有到岗。为了保住几代孔院人辛勤劳动的成果、避免选修汉语课的学生流失,我这刚到任的中方院长只好拿出多年汉语教师练就的功夫做起本行,到我们孔院下属的“孔子课堂”——设在德州埃尔巴索的大教堂高中(Cathedral High School at El Paso)去代几天课。在那里,我结识了迪克。     埃尔巴索的大教堂高中是一所天主教教会学校,学生清一色的男孩子。学校开设汉语课已有五、六年时间。近几年, 每到暑假学校都会组织“‘汉语桥’暑期夏令营”,带选修汉语的学生到中国去学习、旅游、观光,深受学生们的欢迎。迪克就是今年夏天参加夏令营到中国去的15位学生中的一个。     因为是临时代课,所以CHS所有选汉语课的七个班的学生一时间都成了我的学生。迪克在十一年级。     美国上了高中的男孩子,各个人高马大,又壮又拽。埃尔巴索位于德州最西北端美墨边界上。所以CHS的学生大多是墨西哥裔美国人——黑头发、黑眼睛,跟你英语说得好好的,一转身互相间西班牙语自动转换。每天一百多这样几乎每个名字里都夹杂着Jose, Pepe,Pablo, Pedro, Diego, Diaz字样的学生,穿着一模一样的校服在眼前来来往往,熙熙攘攘,要在他们中辩出张三李四,我感觉不比在南极认企鹅容易!我却第一天就记住了迪克(Cristobal Diaz)!记住他,是因为他的热情——他对中国的热情!第一天给他们上课,我站在讲台前迎接学生进教室。迪克从门外进来走近我,问“你是新来的中文老师?” 我刚点点头,他立马伸出右手,一把握住我的手:“老师,我叫‘迪克’,我爱中国!我一定要再去中国!”     “你,去过中国?”我问。     “去过,今年夏天,夏令营!”他用汉语回答我。     “你喜欢中国什么呢?” 我悄悄地把他的“爱” (love)换成了“喜欢”(like), 因为我觉得跟中国刚见一次面就称满口称“爱”, 难免唐突。     “中国的一切!(Everything of China! )我爱! ”他倒很坚决。     以后的每一天,我每次遇到迪克,他都会重复“老师,我一定要再去中国!”让我感叹“真是个阳光、外向的孩子!”     有时课后我会和他简单聊几句;有时会问他:“你在中国时都看了什么?”     “长城、故宫,太壮观啦!那是我们这个国家过去、将来都不都可能有的。我还看到中国的城市非常大,街道非常宽,非常整齐、漂亮;石家庄的地铁非常新; 城市里路标都有英文…… ,我们和中国学生一起上课,还建了‘微信群’,还有,人都非常好(People are all very nice)……”他如数家珍似地列举着,我好不容易才趁他大喘气时插进 一句:“非常好的,什么人?“     “所有人!——中国的学生们、老师、导游、翻译、还有打篮球的伙伴,广场上的游人、地铁里的乘客,都非常nice! 我还没离开中国就miss他们了。老师,miss用汉语怎么说?”     “汉语叫‘想’, 或者‘思念’……”不等我说完,迪克马上接过我的话:“那我,思念中国!”我赶紧给他解释:“‘思念’是非常正式的说法,我们一般不……”他迫不及待地打断我的话,“老师,我就是要‘正式’,‘正式思念中国’!我一定要再去中国,我是认真的!”     这时,我完全相信了他的“认真” 。 “那你要好好学汉语啊!好好考HSK,到时可以申请孔子学院奖学金,到中国去学汉语!“…
